Grouping. a Segments a and c are grouped as this grouping provides the best continuity in terms of adhering to the constraints of spatial proximity and orientation similarity. The grouping (a,b) satisfies the spatial proximity constraint but in terms of orientation similarity, it is less optimal that the grouping (a,c).
